Day 1

On arrival at Kigali International Airport and after finalizing formalities, you shall be welcomed by your guide. You will start your tour with a city tour of Kigali where you will visit a Genocide Memorial and the history museum.
You will also visit the kimironko market.

You will after there proceed to your hotel for an overnight.

Day 2

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to Akagera National Park which borders fine-looking rising and falling plains, solid broad-leafed forests, and brighter acacia woods that define its favorable nature to animals and visitors.
You will do a game drive where you will spot mammals like giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, crocodiles, hippos, hyenas, and masses of birds.

In the afternoon, have a boat ride on Lake Ihema after having your lunch. You will sail along the water edge which is covered with several trees, drift past numerous giant hippos, and see several crocodiles, some in the shallows of the water and others basking on the shore.

Later return to the lodge, have dinner, and prepare to go for a night game drive in the park.

Today, you will have an early morning game drive in the park.
It is in Akagera National Park that you can see all the Big 5 animals that is, Elephants, Leopards, Lions, Buffalos and the Black Eastern Rhinos.
You will spot mammals like giraffes, crocodiles, hippos spotted hyenas and masses of birds.

Thereafter, you will drive back to Kigali for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will drive to Nyungwe Forest. Nyungwe forest national park protects the largest single tract of Montagne Forest remaining in Africa. It is a remarkably rich center of biodiversity, with 86 mammal species, 280 birds, birding site in Rwanda.

Drive to Huye mountain coffee. During a tour, you will be guided through the process of planting, growing, and processing coffee beans. At the end of the tour, you will have the opportunity to buy freshly roasted coffee as well as craft from local craftsmen.

After breakfast, you will go colobus monkey trekking in Nyungwe forest. Nyungwe forest national park protects the largest single tract of Montagne forest remaining in Africa.
Nyungwe national park is most treasured for its primates, there is a remarkable 13 primate species recorded resident in this lush rainforest. This includes numerous fun-loving troops of black and white colobus monkeys.

Visit Gisakura Tea Plantation | Drive to Lake Kivu

This morning, we head to the Gisakura tea plantation. Here, you can take a walk in the tea plantation to admire the tea area and the impressive mountain landscape.
You’ll see farmers picking the tea and collecting it in koerben. They are paid per kilo.

You will then drive to the small town of Gisenyi, with its 70,000 inhabitants. It is located at the northern end of lake Kivu, which is regarded as most scenic lake in the central African grave breach. Enjoy the picturesque sight, see the huge "mountain" of the city of Goma (democratic republic of Congo), the active Nyiragongo volcano (3.470 meters), and further east group of the Virunga Volcanoes. Traditionally, Gisenyi is a fashionable resort for Rwandans, the climate is almost mediterranean.

Drive to Volcanoes National Park | Visit Iby'iwacu Cultural Village

You will have the morning at leisure while enjoying the beautiful views of lake Kivu. Thereafter, you will depart for parc national des volcanoes.
The journey goes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that show much of Rwanda’s landscape, and continue to the cultural village of Ibyiwacu, that is helping the poor people, who in the past often lived only on bush meat hunting and survived tourism.
In the culture village, you can see the people, the culture, and how they live. You will also have the opportunity to see the eight traditional dances, listen to gorilla songs and see how they cook.

Day 8

Gorilla Trekking | Volcanoes National Park

Your day will start early with breakfast. Afterwards, you will be taken to the park headquarters in Kinigi headquarters where you and others scheduled for gorilla trek that day will be divided into groups of 8 and briefed on gorilla etiquette and safety. You will then be driven to the star of the trail and your ranger guide will lead you as you track for gorillas along the designated trails and enjoy the nature in the Virungas.

Though you will have been well assured that the gorillas are habituated, chances are you have never seen one, so a little anxiety is allowed just don’t let it overshadow the excitement and your ability to enjoy your trek through the forest. Your panic will probably go away when you finally come face to face with the gorillas and realize you have nothing to fear, for as long as you follow your tour guides instructions you will be just fine.
