Day 1

Drive to Kibale Forest National Park

You will set off for Kibale National Park. The journey is filled with spectacular views of the Ugandan scenery. You will enjoy these and bypass tea plantations. You will stop in Fort Portal for lunch before you proceed to Kibale. You will arrive at your accommodation in the late afternoon for overnight.

After breakfast, you will head for chimpanzee trekking and enjoy a wonderful forest experience with a ranger. Kibale National Park has an area of 795 km2 containing a tropical forest and is home to 13 primate species, including chimpanzees. After the wonderful experience with the chimpanzees, you will have lunch and proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On your way into the park, enjoy a game drive and then proceed to your accommodation for overnight.

Gorilla Trekking

This morning, you will get up very early to prepare for the highlight of your safari - gorilla trekking. You will drive to the trekking station (depending on your gorilla permits). Trekking the mountain gorilla is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The trek will take between 2 and 7 hours but is well worth the effort. You will be led by an experienced ranger.
