Arusha - Mkomazi National Park

Your assigned driver-guide will pick you up from your lodge in Arusha, with a packed lunch in hand, and drive you for approximately 4 hours to the entry gate of Mkomazi National Park. Upon arrival and completion of the park entry formalities, you'll embark on an exciting game drive in search of the unique wildlife that thrives in this arid environment. With some luck, you'll encounter a variety of species, including giraffes, oryx, gerenuk, hartebeests, lesser kudu, eland, impalas, and Grant's gazelles, all sharing the park with elephants, buffaloes, and a host of predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

At 12:30 PM, enjoy a relaxing picnic lunch at one of the designated spots within the park, surrounded by the stunning landscape.

In the afternoon, continue your game drive as you make your way toward your accommodation area within the park. End the day with a delicious dinner and an overnight stay at a comfortable tented camp, where you can reflect on the day's adventures.

Mkomazi national park

Mkomazi National Park is a haven for bird enthusiasts. Start your day early with a guided walk accompanied by an armed ranger, offering a unique opportunity to spot rare bird species such as martial eagles and violet wood-hoopoes. You'll also encounter large numbers of more common species like ostriches, long-crested eagles, doves, hornbills, weavers, and guinea fowl. During your walk, you'll have the chance to observe wildlife in their natural habitat as well.
After your walk, return to your camp for a hearty breakfast and a bit of rest.
In the late morning, you'll depart for a visit to the Rhino Sanctuary, a vital breeding ground for the endangered black rhino.
In the afternoon, continue your game drive, with the hope of encountering the elusive African wild dogs if you didn’t have the chance to see them the previous day.
In the evening, return to your camp for dinner and a restful overnight stay, reflecting on another memorable day in the park.
