Day 1

Our representative will pick you up at Kigali Airport or downtown Kigali and drive you to Kisoro for the Night Stay. The 4 to 5-hour scenic drive to Uganda will go through Rwanda’s northern town of Ruhengeri where you will cross over into Uganda via the Cyanika border posts. The trip continues through the nearby cities of Kisoro. Arriving at the park in the early afternoon will allow you to choose from our optional activities such as short Community Visit for Coffee Making Experience or Relaxing at Lake Mutanda.

After breakfast, you will transfer to Mgahinga National Park headquarters for golden monkey trekking. You will be briefed about the dos and don’ts while with golden monkeys and then proceed to the mountain/forest for your trek. You will only spend one hour on this exhilarating golden monkey trekking experience in Mgahinga National Park. Spend the day exploring the lush forest while observing these playful primates in their natural habitat. After the tracking experience, you will go visit the Ngarama Batwa Caves and evening Batwa Experience.

Day 3

Today, you will start your day with a short drive to the footsteps of Mountain Sabinyo and hike to the top, a Virunga Volcano that you can only access its summit from the park. Raising up, the mountain lies at 3,645 meters (11,959 ft), marks the intersection of the borders of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Rwanda, and Uganda. The slopes of Mt. Sabinyo are a habitat for the critically endangered mountain gorillas. The hike to the top and down the mountain is a one-day experience which makes it something most can do for those who wish to hike. Basically, would involve 4 hours climbing and another 4 hours to get down the mountain but depends on the pace and weather conditions. Walking sticks are provided for free meanwhile the porters are available for hire. You will go through vegetation ranges from the bamboo zone between 2400 – 2800m. After ascending to its park, have some rest and your packed lunch. Start descending the mountain and Transfer to Bwindi National Park.

Day 4

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park

After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters to be allocated a Gorilla family that you will trek. Of course, the park staff will first give you a full briefing concerning the Dos and Don’ts while with the gorillas. After that, you will be driven to the starting point of your allocated gorilla family to start your trek into the beautiful Impenetrable Bwindi Forest. This trek may take between 30 minutes to three quarters of the day, depending on where the Mountain Gorillas will be found. Please noted that gorilla trekking can be strenuous and as such a certain level of fitness is required. Once you find the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour to observe them and take photographs. Although this time may seem too short a time, the experience you get will be worth it. Thereafter, you will return to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate in recognition of your effort in contributing to the conservation of these endangered gorillas.

We will start the journey in the morning from Bwindi National Park and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The tour will take you through the stunning landscapes of western Uganda and get you to the park by early afternoon. We will drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, popularly known for the tree-climbing lions. Unlike their counterparts at the Kasenyi Plains, the lions at Ishasha have found a way to climb the fig trees to enjoy the warm temperatures. While the sighting of the tree-climbing lions is not 100% guaranteed, a stopover at Ishasha is well worth a visit!

We start our action-packed fourth day with an early morning breakfast at the lodge. Afterward, we proceed to the famed Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot various species of wild animals. The Kasenyi plains are found in the vast savannahs of the Albertine Rift in Queen Elizabeth National Park, and it will be a morning full of adventure! Expect to encounter lions, herds of buffalos, elephants, Uganda Kobs, Topi, and bushbucks. While spotting the ‘big five’ in the park is not guaranteed, on a lucky day, you may sight leopards to make it the ‘big four.’ We will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, join the Kazinga Channel boat cruise for an afternoon of wild game viewing. We’ll have the chance to spot crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and a wide range of bird species on the channel waters.

After an early morning breakfast, we will drive to the Kalinzu Forest to experience tracking the chimpanzees in their forest home. Visitors to Kalinzu Forest have more than a 50% chance of encountering these creatures. Kalinzu Forest is not only a haven for chimpanzee but it’s also home to 6 more species of primates, and if you’re lucky, on the Kalinzu trek you might encounter other different colobus monkeys, olive baboons, and red-tailed monkeys.

Later Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for your Evening relaxation and Stay.

After a relaxed morning breakfast at your lodge, you will embark on the drive to Kigali city – Rwanda’s capital city. Enjoy the views of the surrounding areas.
You will visit the Rwanda genocide memorial Center and see the names and remains of thousands of lives who succumbed to the 1994 Rwanda genocide.
Have lunch at any hotel in Kigali and the driver will drop you at either a hotel or lodge. This marks the end of your 9-day Uganda – Rwanda tour.
