Day 2

Chimpanzee Tracking & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

The main activity today is chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park. This park has over 1,500 chimpanzees, giving you a great chance to see them in the wild. After an early breakfast, you'll go to the park headquarters for a short briefing about the trek. Then, you’ll head into the forest to look for the chimps.
The walk can take between 30 minutes and a few hours, depending on where the chimpanzees were last seen. Once you find them, you'll spend about an hour watching them as they eat, play, and interact with each other. These chimps are used to seeing people, so you can get a good look at their behavior. In the afternoon, you’ll travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, check into your lodge, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

You'll have your breakfast, and depart for an early morning game drive across the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park, where you will have the opportunity of viewing lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalos, and elephants. For any birder, this area supports the secretary bird and black-chested snake eagle to name a few. You'll return to your accommodation for lunch.

After lunch, you will head out for the boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls where you will also be able to catch sight of more animals including hippos, crocodiles, and several water birds.

Day 4

Wake up early and go for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. Look out for animals like Cape buffalo, elephant herds, lions, and maybe even a leopard (they are hard to spot). After the drive, go back to the lodge, check out, and travel to the Ishasha Sector to look for tree-climbing lions. You have about a 70% chance of seeing them, but sometimes they stay hidden in the grass while hunting. If you do see them, it’s an amazing and unforgettable view. After Ishasha, head to your lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Since tomorrow will be a busy day, it’s best to relax and get ready for the gorilla trek.

Day 5

Have breakfast, then go to the ranger station. A ranger will explain the rules for gorilla trekking. After that, you’ll start your walk into Bwindi Forest to look for the gorillas. The hike may take 1 to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are. Once you find a group, you’ll spend one hour watching them. Seeing these gentle, rare animals up close is an amazing experience you’ll never forget. After the gorilla trekking adventure, you will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.

Transfer to Lake Mburo NP and Enjoy Evening Game Drives

After breakfast, start your journey to Lake Mburo National Park, passing through Mbarara City. You’ll reach your lodge in good time and take a short rest. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive that goes into the evening. During the drive, you might see large eland antelopes, zebras, topis, impalas, Uganda kobs, and Cape buffalos, among other animals. After the drive, return to the lodge and relax for the night.

Start your day with an early breakfast. After that, go on a guided morning walk through Lake Mburo National Park with a trained ranger from the Uganda Wildlife Authority. During the walk, you’ll get to see animals like zebras, giraffes, elands, topis, buffaloes, and other antelopes up close.
Follow the trail that leads up the hills. From the top, you’ll have an amazing view of Lake Mburo and many of the other lakes around the park—up to nine of them! After enjoying the view, head back to your lodge, check out, and then drive to Entebbe Airport.
