Nairobi - Amboseli

Depart from your hotel or pick-up point and drive to Amboseli National park in a shared 4x4 Jeep ( a 4-hour journey of about 102 miles), arriving at Amboseli Ol Tukai lodge just before lunch. After check in, enjoy a sumptuous meal in the open-sided verandah/dining room with clear views of Mt Kilimanjaro (on a clear day) and wildlife, especially elephants grazing just a few meters away. Following afternoon tea, you will enjoy an evening game drive for a first view of wildlife species for which Amboseli is famous. In an open 4x4 van and in the company of an experienced tour guide, you will crisscross the open park to view the wildlife at close range in their natural habitat. Most of the big safari animals are to be found in this park including Elephants, Lions, leopards and Buffalos. The drive lasts about 2 hours through the open savannah amid Acacia trees. Return to the lodge before dusk for a soiree by a campfire followed by dinner. Retire at your leisure to your room for the night.

Amboseli - Nairobi

Awake at dawn to the chirping of the birds and the fresh mountain breeze. The view of the majestic mountain should be clear on a fog-free day. After an early light breakfast, it is time for a drive through Amboseli National park for a morning of game viewing. The reason for an early game drive is that some wildlife is easier to spot at this time. Some animals especially the carnivorous species hunt at night; Leopards, Cheetahs and Lions in particular. Early dawn finds them exhausted and needing to lie down for rest after a night of hunting, and therefore easier to spot them. The game drive lasts for about 2 hours after which you will return to the lodge for the main breakfast. Thereafter, it is check out time ready for the return drive to Nairobi.
