Day 1

Nairobi - Lake Nakuru National Park

Nairobi - Lake Nakuru National Park

You will depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, with brief stops at the scenic Great Rift Valley escarpment. The Great Rift Valley extends from the Beqaa Valley in Lebanon, Asia, to Mozambique in Southeast Africa, with a significant portion cutting through Kenya. This vast geological feature is home to some of the world's most remarkable lakes, mountains, and plains.

Lake Nakuru, one of the Rift Valley soda lakes, sits at an elevation of 1,754 meters (5,755 feet) above sea level. The park is an excellent destination for bird watching and wildlife viewing and serves as a sanctuary for black and white rhinos. The lake’s blue-green algae attracts large numbers of flamingos.

You will arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. As the sun sets, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, you will proceed to Masai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. It is in southwest Kenya and borders Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to the south. The Mara’s vast scenic expanse of gently rolling African savannah plains measures approximately 1510 square kilometers. It is famous for its spectacular wildlife diversity and happens to be a premier Kenya safari location in East Africa. Visitors have many reasons to visit this animal paradise.

Large numbers of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, African buffalos, wildebeests, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, and gazelles (among others) are found here. This natural, unconfined habitat gives them the freedom to roam for miles on end.
