Day 1

A Professional Semu Gorilla Safaris and Tour driver-guide will pick you up in Kigali and drive you to Volcanoes National Park. Before driving to Volcanoes National Park, a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial can be scheduled. The drive from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park is scheduled for 3 hours. On arrival at Volcanoes National Park, visit the Ibyi'wacu Cultural Centre to experience Rwandan culture and customs. There is also an option to visit the Ellen DeGeneres Centre for Conservation. Dinner and overnight at a budget guest house in Musanze town.

Day 2

Golden Monkey Trek in Volcanoes NP and Transfer to Bwindi National Park

After your breakfast and then to the park head offices in Kinigi by 7:00 am. Join up with the other golden monkey trekkers, meet the ranger guide for a few minutes talk about the activity and the park. At 8:00 am, transfer to the trailhead just outside the park. Enjoy great views of the mountain scenery as you start your trek to find the golden monkeys. Notice how they skilfully pick the young bamboo leaves from the tip of the bamboo tree. They may also move out of the park into the potato fields. How they love the potatoes!

After an amazing one hour with the golden monkeys, you will return to the trailhead and have lunch. And later transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP crossing via the Katuna border enjoy the landscapes of steep hills with stunning views of the lake below, the drive is approximately 2hours 29mintues. You will reach in the afternoon do nothing but only check-in

Day 3

After breakfast, proceed to the rangers’ post. You will receive a briefing on the do's and don’ts during the trekking. You will then enter the Bwindi Forest for your adventure. The area offers a dramatic, steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense. It is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates.

Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle but endangered giants is unforgettable. Later, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. The drive is through a beautiful part of the country often referred to as ‘the Switzerland of Africa’ for its unique cool weather despite being near the Equator. Dinner and your overnight stay are at the resort

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park Via the Ishasha Sector in Search of Tree-Climbing Lions

Ishasha sector for tree climbing lions:
On the way from Bwindi, you will drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, popularly known for the tree-climbing lions. While the sighting of the tree-climbing lions is not 100% guaranteed, a stopover at Ishasha is worth a visit! After the Ishasha game drive, you'll proceed to the Mweya Peninsular of Queen Elizabeth for a boat cruise experience on the Kazinga Channel.

Kazinga Channel boat cruise:
If time permits, you'll join the Kazinga Channel boat cruise for an afternoon of wild game viewing. You will spot crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and a wide range of bird species on the channel waters. After the Kazinga Channel boat cruise, you'll drive to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5

Guided Game Drive and Boat Safari at Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will be up early and have your breakfast. You'll proceed for a morning game drive/safari in the Kasenyi plains and be on the lookout for cape buffalos, herds of elephants plus lions, and leopards (though hard to spot) among others. You'll return to the accommodation for some rest time and lunch. After lunch, you will go for a 2-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel that connects Lakes George and Edward. During the trip, the sight of wildlife including giant hippos, elephants, and crocodiles among others will fascinate you. You will also see many varieties of birds on the water shores. You'll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6

After early morning breakfast, we will drive to the Kalinzu Forest Reserve to experience trekking the chimpanzees in their forest home. If you are lucky on the trek, you may also encounter other species of monkeys in the Kalinzu Forest. These include the colobus monkey, olive baboon, and red-tailed monkey. Transfer to Kigali after the chimp trek. Driving to Kampala or Entebbe after the chimpanzee trek at Kalinzu forest is also possible. The drive from the Kalinzu forest to Kigali is estimated to take 6-7hrs.
