After breakfast, your Gowitos Safaris and Holidays guide will pick you up from your accommodation to begin your journey to Tarangire National Park, a scenic drive of about two and a half hours along well-maintained roads. Named after the Tarangire River, this lifeline sustains the region’s wildlife during the dry season and is often called the river of warthogs. The park is renowned for its large elephant herds that gather along the riverbanks, as well as sightings of giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. Predators such as lions and leopards frequently roam nearby. Bird enthusiasts will be thrilled, as Tarangire boasts the highest diversity of breeding bird species on Earth. The park is also home to massive, ancient baobab trees, some over a thousand years old. Lunch will be enjoyed at a picturesque picnic spot within the park. Following an eventful game drive, you’ll continue on to Karatu, where you’ll settle into your accommodation for the evening.

Serengeti National Park to Karatu
The Serengeti is nothing short of extraordinary. Renowned for its vast, open grasslands, it offers unparalleled opportunities to observe wildlife in its natural habitat. Its climate and vegetation have remained largely unchanged for millions of years. While the Serengeti is home to a wealth of wildlife, it is most celebrated for the annual Great Migration. Enormous herds of wildebeests, accompanied by zebras and antelopes, travel in a continuous search for fresh grazing. The migration occurs year-round, but knowing the best locations at specific times ensures remarkable sightings.
Beyond its breathtaking landscapes, the Serengeti provides excellent chances to spot predators, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards, making it a truly unforgettable experience.
