The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses through the park, which is the only source of water for the wild animals here during the dry season. The park is famous for its large numbers of elephants, baobab trees and tree climbing African pythons.

Today's adventure takes you to one of Africa's seven wonders the Ngorongoro Crater formed by a massive volcanic eruption two million years ago. This fertile crater boasts a unique ecosystem with the highest concentration of animals in Africa.

The Ngorongoro Crater is home to many lion families, buffalos, zebras, wildebeests and many more species. And nowhere else offers a chance as good as this to spot the rare black rhino. In the evening you will be heading back to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Enjoy breakfast and gather your lunch boxes before heading to Lake Manyara National Park. Marvel at the breathtaking views of Lake Manyara and observe elephants in the woodlands. Don't miss the chance to visit the famous Manyara hippo pool.
The park offers a great view of the 400 meters deep Great Rift Valley. This tear in the earth came into existence 22 to 25 million years ago, when movement in a weak area of the earth’s crust led to the formation of a rift thousands of kilometers long through the whole of East Africa. The valley is so enormous it can be seen from outer space and it has many unique landscapes that attract a vast number of different animals. Besides being home to Lake Manyara itself you can also find dense rainforest here with hundreds of groups of monkeys and a huge number of birds. During the evening drive to your reserved accommodation for dinner and overnight.
