This park gets its name from the Tarangire River, which serves as the primary water source for wildlife during the dry season. Tarangire is renowned for its large elephant populations, majestic baobab trees, and tree-dwelling African pythons. Spanning roughly 2,850 square kilometers, the park offers a diverse habitat teeming with wildlife.
Spend the day immersed in game viewing, pausing for a picnic lunch with scenic views of the river. After an exciting day of wildlife exploration, you’ll head to your lodge or campsite for dinner and a restful overnight stay before nightfall.

Karatu to Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, set off for Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and enjoying wildlife sightings along the way. As you approach the Serengeti, an awe-inspiring view unfolds a seemingly endless expanse stretching as far as the eye can see. The name Serengeti, derived from Kiswahili, translates to “endless plains.” This 6,900-square-mile (18,000-square-kilometer) park is home to over two million large animals, including more than a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and countless Thomson’s gazelles.
Spend the afternoon exploring the Seronera Valley, known for its diverse wildlife, before making your way to the tented camp. Relax in the evening while taking in the stunning sunset and reflecting on the day's adventures.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
Today, you'll begin with an early morning safari, getting up before dawn to catch the animals at their most active, while enjoying the breathtaking sunrise. The African savannah's sunrise is a truly unforgettable sight. After the game drive, you'll head back to the camp for a delightful brunch.
In the afternoon, you'll travel to Ngorongoro, often referred to as the 8th Natural Wonder of the World. With its towering 2,000-foot-high walls and a floor that spans 102 square miles, the crater is like a natural sanctuary, home to nearly every species native to East Africa, including the elusive black rhinos. It boasts the highest concentration of wildlife on Earth, featuring a river, several swamps, a soda lake that gives the illusion of steam from above, full of flamingos, a lush forest, and vast open plains. The mighty bull elephants here have enormous tusks, thanks to the rich volcanic soil and grasses that provide them with essential minerals.

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After breakfast, embark on a drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive within its boundaries. This is undoubtedly one of the prime spots in Tanzania to view black rhinos, as well as prides of lions, including the impressive black-maned males. The crater is home to vibrant flamingos and numerous waterbird species. You’ll also have the chance to spot leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and a wide range of antelope species. Smaller mammals can also be observed in the area. In the late afternoon, you'll drive back to Arusha or the airport for your drop-off.
