You’ll then be transported to Chanya Lodge, conveniently located just outside Moshi. Moshi is celebrated for its rich coffee production and vibrant local markets, offering a genuine Tanzanian experience. The town boasts a variety of restaurants, providing an excellent introduction to your safari adventure. The serene ambiance of Moshi, with Mount Kilimanjaro majestically dominating the skyline, adds to its picturesque charm.

Materuni waterfalls & Coffee Tours
After breakfast, our experienced Cari local tour guides will pick you up in a private vehicle for a scenic 45-minute drive to Materuni Village, situated at 1,300 meters above sea level near Moshi. Here, you'll experience the traditional Chagga coffee-making process, from harvesting beans to brewing a fresh cup, immersing yourself in rich aromas and flavors. A locally sourced lunch will be served before you embark on a 3-mile (5 km) hike to the breathtaking Materuni Waterfall. This moderate trek, with a 262-meter (859-foot) elevation gain, is the perfect warm-up for your upcoming safari. Standing 70 meters tall, the waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant wildlife, offering a truly unforgettable sight. After this enriching adventure, you’ll be transferred to Arusha region and sleep at Arusha Farm House, reflecting on the day’s cultural and natural wonders.

Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, day three of the tour begins with a morning departure to Tarangire National Park, Tanzania's sixth largest. Spend the afternoon exploring this quieter wildlife haven, known for its diverse habitats. Watch majestic elephant herds playing and bathing in the Tarangire River, and keep an eye out for giraffes, buffaloes, gazelles, and zebras. With over 545 species spotted here, it’s a great opportunity to see iconic African wildlife in a less crowded setting, which our past guests have especially enjoyed.

Tarangire NP to Ndutu Area
We’ll start with an early breakfast before heading to Southern Serengeti, where you’ll catch your first glimpse of its iconic endless plains. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the Serengeti teems with wildlife and is home to the Great Migration. In the afternoon, we’ll continue to the Ndutu area, a stunning region rich in wildlife. Ndutu allows off-road driving, offering unique opportunities to get close to the animals. This area is known for calving season, attracting predators and large herds until April.
Our overnight stay at Safari Haven Migration Camp offers breathtaking views and unforgettable experiences. With evening campfires and stunning sunrises, the camp enhances your tour experience, leaving you with lasting memories.

Ndutu to Ngorongoro Crater
Early morning after breakfast, we depart for the Ngorongoro Crater, a stunning natural wonder formed by a volcanic explosion millions of years ago. Renowned for its unique geology, the crater is home to one of Africa's densest large mammal populations. You may spot the endangered black rhino and prides of lions during your visit. In the afternoon, we’ll head back to Marera Valley for an overnight stay, reflecting on the beauty and diversity experienced in this remarkable reserve.

Mto wa Mbu Activities and back to Arusha
On your final day, you’ll visit Mto wa Mbu to immerse yourself in the traditional life of the Maasai. Explore their culture, customs, and visit their bomas (extended family huts). Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed with vibrant singing and dancing, and you’re encouraged to join in! Learn about traditional practices like fire-making and beadwork, and meet villagers in their homes, with your guide interpreting as needed. You can also purchase handmade leather and beadwork. Later, return to Arusha for an overnight.

Departure
On the final day of your tour, you’ll have the chance to explore the vibrant city of Arusha, perfect for gathering souvenirs and making lasting memories. Depending on your interests, we’re happy to recommend activities, such as visiting local markets for authentic Tanzanian art, handcrafted items, and delicious street food. When it’s time to depart, Cari Local African Safaris will provide transportation to Kilimanjaro International Airport, ensuring you arrive safely and with ample time for your journey home.
