On day one, leave Nairobi and head towards Samburu, passing through scenic landscapes of tea and coffee fields, mountain streams, and the bustling town of Nanyuki. Continue north to Isiolo, the gateway to the remote Northern Frontier. From there, a short drive takes you to Samburu. After checking in and enjoying lunch at Ashnil Samburu Camp, embark on your first game drive, returning as the sun sets. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 2

On the day, you will have an entire day of Samburu National Reserve game drive after having your breakfast. Samburu is known for its unique wildlife, including the Samburu "Special Five" – the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and the Beisa oryx – all of which you’ll have the opportunity to spot on your safari. As the late afternoon approaches, you’ll embark on your first thrilling game drive across the park. The golden hour provides the perfect backdrop to view these incredible creatures as they roam in their natural habitat. The game drive offers plenty of chances to capture unforgettable moments, with the sun setting in the distance, casting an ethereal glow across the landscape. Lunch will be served during your game drive. After the game drive, return to the camp where you can unwind and enjoy a sumptuous dinner. Your overnight stay will be at Ashnil Samburu Camp, where you’ll rest and rejuvenate for another exciting day of exploration ahead.

After breakfast, you'll depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, enjoying an en-route game drive. Known for its vibrant flamingos, Lake Nakuru is an alkaline Rift Valley lake and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Arriving in time for lunch and check-in at The Cliff, you’ll then embark on a comprehensive afternoon game drive. Visit viewpoints for stunning photo opportunities and spot wildlife such as white rhinos, buffaloes, and over 450 bird species, including flamingos. The park’s rich ecosystem offers diverse wildlife and incredible landscapes. After the game drive, enjoy dinner and relax at The Cliff, spending the night surrounded by nature's beauty.

After breakfast, check out and drive for approximately 5 hours to the Maasai Mara, arriving in time for lunch. The Maasai Mara, an extension of the Serengeti ecosystem, is famous for the Great Migration, one of the world’s most spectacular natural events. After lunch, head out for an afternoon game drive where you'll have the chance to spot the "Big Five"—lion, buffalo, elephant, rhino, and leopard. The Mara is particularly known for its large lion population. Return to Mara Serena Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.
