From Karatu to the Endless Plains of Serengeti

Departing from Karatu, we embark on a scenic drive toward Central Serengeti, passing through the breathtaking landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, we take in the changing scenery, from lush highlands to the vast open plains of the Serengeti. By afternoon, we arrive at our destination, ready to explore one of Africa’s most iconic landscapes.

We’ll pause for a picnic lunch at Naabi Hill Gate, the gateway to the Serengeti, before continuing into the park for an afternoon game drive. After soaking in the beauty of a stunning sunset, we’ll proceed to Safari Haven Serengeti Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Today is dedicated to a full day of adventure in the Serengeti. We’ll start with an early sunrise game drive, capturing the magic of the park as the animals stir with the morning light. Afterward, we’ll return to the campsite for breakfast before packing a lunch for our full-day excursion.

The day will be spent exploring the Serengeti’s breathtaking landscapes in search of the famed Big Five. Beyond its iconic mammals, the park is a birdwatcher’s paradise, home to over 500 bird species. From the towering ostrich and distinctive secretary bird roaming the grasslands to the soaring black eagles above the savannah, the Serengeti offers endless wonders.

As the day winds down, we’ll return to the campsite at sunset for a well-deserved dinner and an overnight stay.
