1-Day Akagera National Park Rwanda

Your one-day adventure to Akagera National Park begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Kigali, setting off at 6:00 AM for the approximately 2.5-hour scenic drive to the park. Arriving at 8:30 AM, you’ll complete park entry formalities and receive a briefing from the park guide before embarking on a thrilling game drive at 10:00 AM. Akagera’s diverse landscapes—spanning savannahs, woodlands, and wetlands—host an incredible array of wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and an abundance of antelope species. As the game drive progresses, immerse yourself in the thrill of seeking out the iconic Big Five and observing wildlife in their natural habitats. Around 2:00 PM, pause for a well-deserved lunch at the Akagera Game Lodge enjoying a relaxing meal amid the park’s serene ambiance. After lunch, reflect on the breathtaking sights and encounters as you begin your return journey to Kigali, leaving the park around 3:00pm.
