Leave Nairobi and head north to Samburu, passing through Thika and enjoying breathtaking scenery with mountain streams, tea, and coffee fields. After Nanyuki, continue to Isiolo, the last major stop before entering the remote Northern Frontier district. From Isiolo, it's a short drive to Samburu. Arrive at Samburu Ashnil Camp in time for check-in and lunch. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive, returning to camp as the sun sets. After an early breakfast, venture out in search of the big cats of Samburu and other wildlife species before returning to the lodge for lunch if you had not taken picnic lunch. In the afternoon, embark on your game drive, where you’ll encounter a variety of flora and fauna as the sun begins to set. Samburu Reserve is home to unique wildlife, including the rare Northern specialist species such as Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx—collectively known as the Samburu Special Five. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a renowned wildlife haven and conservation success story. The scenic drive leads you through stunning terrain, arriving at your lodge in time for a delicious lunch. After settling in, you may have the opportunity to join an afternoon game drive. Ol Pejeta is home to two of the world’s last remaining northern white rhinos and serves as a sanctuary for over 110 critically endangered black rhinos. You’ll also have the chance to spot some of Kenya’s more elusive species, including aardvarks, zorillas, bat-eared foxes, leopards, and even lion hunts.
