Today, you will take an early afternoon air transfer departing from Entebbe International Airport to Kidepo Valley National Park. You will enjoy the stunning aerial views of the amazing landscape.

You will check into your lodge and later go out for an evening game drive for your first experience in this pristine wilderness and spot some animals.

Today, you can go out for a night safari after dusk to look for the nocturnal species. Some of the elusive cats can be spotted at this time as they are very active now. This is optional. Alternatively, you can spend the rest of the day relaxing at your lodge.

Full-Day Game Drives in Kidepo Valley National Park

Today, you will enjoy a full-day safari in Kidepo Valley National Park. You will start with a tour of Narus Valley in the south of the park. The Narus Valley contains the permanent water sources of the park and is the greenest part of the park. It therefore has the most animals in Kidepo. Later, you will head to the Kidepo Valley in the north of the park. The Kidepo Valley is dry compared to the south and has fewer animals. It is however a beautiful wilderness and has special features such as the dry river sandy beds, hot springs, and mountains.

Karamoja Tribe Cultural Tour

Today, you will visit a large Karamojong homestead for a cultural immersion. The Karamojong people in the region still live their traditional lifestyle which has not been affected much by modernization. You will learn about their traditions, and visit their unique housing. Later, you'll be treated to a traditional dance

Optional tour activity:

Mt. Morungole hike and IK community cultural tour: If you are a hiking enthusiast today you may go for a full-day hike on Mt. Morungole combined with a cultural experience with the IK community which lives on the mountain. The small IK community with a few thousand members is one of the most unique communities in Uganda. Their culture is not similar to any community in Uganda and has not been affected by modernization since they are isolated in the mountains.

Air Transfer Back to Entebbe Airport

Today, you may have a light morning walk in the park to enjoy the scenery and watch the animals up close. In the afternoon, you will have your air transfer back to Entebbe.
