Arrival in Kigali – Transfer to Kisoro Town

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your guide, who will assist with customs and transfer you to Kisoro Town. The scenic drive will take about 4-5 hours, offering beautiful views along the way. Once in Kisoro, you’ll check into your lodge, enjoy a delicious lunch, and relax for the afternoon. After a long journey, you’ll have dinner at your accommodation and spend the night in the serene surroundings. Accommodation, Ikaze cottages.

Golden Monkey Tracking and Batwa Cultural Experience

Start your day with breakfast at your lodge before heading to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for an exciting Golden Monkey tracking adventure. You’ll spend the morning trekking through the forest in search of these rare, active monkeys. After the tracking experience, enjoy a lunch break, then head to the Batwa community for a cultural experience where you’ll learn about the history and traditions of this indigenous group. Dinner will be served at your lodge, followed by an overnight stay.

Hiking Mount Sabyinyo

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll set out for a hike to Mount Sabyinyo, one of the Virunga Volcanoes. The hike can take 5-7 hours, offering spectacular views from the summit of the surrounding landscape, including Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Following the hike, you’ll have lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing at your lodge to recover from the strenuous trek. Dinner will be served, and you’ll overnight at your lodge.

Relaxation and Lake Mutanda Boat Ride

Day 4 is a more leisurely day. After breakfast, enjoy a relaxing morning at your lodge, taking in the natural beauty of the area. Later, head to Lake Mutanda for a boat ride. The serene waters and surrounding volcanoes provide a peaceful and picturesque backdrop for a relaxing afternoon. After the boat ride, return to your lodge for a delightful dinner and a restful night.

Return to Kigali

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred back to Kigali, which takes around 4-5 hours. During the drive, you can reflect on the amazing experiences of the past days. Once in Kigali, you’ll be dropped off at Kigali International Airport to catch your flight home, marking the end of your unforgettable Uganda Golden Monkey Safari.
