Today, we recommend an early start to catch the animals at their most active during a morning game drive, all while witnessing one of the most breathtaking sunrises you’ll ever see. After the drive, we’ll head back to camp for a delicious brunch. Then, we’ll continue our journey to Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the 8th Wonder of the Natural World. Spanning 102 square miles and surrounded by 2,000-foot-high walls, the crater is a living Eden, home to almost every species of wildlife native to East Africa. It's one of the few places on the continent where you can spot the elusive black rhino. Within the crater, you’ll find a river, swamps, a soda lake teeming with flamingos, forests, and vast open plains. Ngorongoro is also famous for its majestic elephants, the largest in the world with enormous tusks. Truly, Ngorongoro Crater is a marvel of nature.
