Serengeti National park (Central)
After an early breakfast, you'll set off towards the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. While the drive is long, the journey itself is a breathtaking experience, especially for first-time visitors. As you venture deeper into the Serengeti, you'll begin to understand why the name means "endless plains" in the local language. Covering 6,900 square miles (18,000 square kilometers), the vast plains stretch out to the horizon, creating a sense of infinite space that challenges your perception of distance.
Home to the iconic Great Migration, the Serengeti hosts around 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and a variety of antelopes. It is also a haven for large predators, making it the perfect place to spot lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and other big cats. Many famous wildlife scenes, including the dramatic River Crossings, have been filmed here, solidifying the Serengeti’s reputation as one of the most remarkable wildlife destinations in the world.
