Day 1

After you arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, a Sumpton Safaris member will pick you up before setting out for a 240-kilometer journey to Amboseli National Park. Your arrival will be in time for lunch, followed by check in at your residential lodge or camp. The park is a hub of wildlife, including lions, leopards, gazelles, cheetahs, wildebeests, hyenas, and elephants, among others.

You will have a short rest before embarking on an afternoon game drive. During this trip, savor the beautiful scenes and ensure you visit Observation Hill, a high point offering excellent panoramic views of the swampy arena and the vast wildlife inhabiting these terrains.

Day 2

Rise early for a morning game drive, then retreat to your lodge for a tantalizing breakfast. The park is famous for having the country’s largest free-range herd of elephants, offering a chance to get up close to these conserved creatures. After breakfast, head out for a full-day game drive in our 4×4 safari vehicles. Keep an eye out for wild animals, birdlife, and even rare species. After the drive, return to your lodge for dinner and a restful sleep.

After an early breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru and arrive in time for lunch. Later, enjoy an afternoon game drive. Besides birds, it is possible to see lions, leopards, Rothschild giraffes, waterbucks, impalas, rhinos, and buffaloes in the surrounding gardens. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

After an early breakfast, you’ll enjoy a game drive as you leave the park. We will make our way to the Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch. Afterward, proceed for the afternoon game drive in search of black-manned lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, buffalo, and other plains game. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Day 5

Masai Mara National Reserve

You will set out early in the morning for a drive to the Mara River, the venue for the majestic Great Migration of wildebeests and zebras. Here, you will catch the action, from attacking crocodiles to fleeing and drowning wildebeests and gazelles. You can also participate in either full-day or half-day game drives around the reserve for a chance to spot other wildlife species, such as the “Big Five,” jackals, African wild dogs, and hyenas, among others. Optional activities available at an extra cost include hot air balloon safaris and local village expeditions.

Day 6

Later, you will be dropped off at the airport or your hotel of choice in Nairobi. This marks the end of our safari together.
