Day 1

Zanzibar to Tarangire National Park

Zanzibar to Tarangire National Park

After the briefing, you’ll embark on a 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Along the way, enjoy stunning views of vast grasslands dotted with ancient baobab trees, traditional Maasai huts, and livestock tended by nomadic herders.

Tarangire is famous for its towering baobabs, tree-climbing pythons, and the largest concentration of African elephants, as well as lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

After a delightful picnic lunch, you'll continue your afternoon game drive, taking in more wildlife and the park’s unique landscapes. The day will end with a drive to the charming Kankari Lodge, where you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Early risers are treated to stunning views of the sun rising over the crater’s edge. After a hearty breakfast, you'll descend the rugged track into the Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of Africa's Seven Wonders, is considered one of the most remarkable ecosystems on Earth. Formed millions of years ago by a volcanic explosion, the crater is 610 meters deep and spans around 260 square kilometers. Home to roughly 25,000 animals, it offers some of the best game viewing in Tanzania. Within minutes, you'll spot wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and more than 500 bird species. If you're lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the rare black rhino grazing in the tall grass.

The Serengeti is also home to a variety of bird species, making it a paradise for bird watchers. The landscape is equally captivating, from the golden grasslands to the iconic kopjes (rock outcrops) where predators often rest. Enjoy a packed lunch in the heart of the park, and continue your adventure until late afternoon, when you’ll return to your lodge to reflect on the day’s incredible experiences.
