Gorilla Experience in the Tropical Forest

Start your day early with breakfast, followed by a briefing at the park headquarters before embarking on an exciting gorilla trek. The gorillas live in families, so you will receive information on which family you will trek with. Remember to carry your face mask, packed breakfast, drinking water, rain jacket, and hiking shoes. You will be provided a walking stick in case the trek is long. Depending on the location of the gorilla family, the trek can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours.

Spend up to one magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Afterward, return to your lodge for lunch and some rest. Optionally, you can visit the nearby Batwa community for cultural insights. This experience is thrilling, as you will learn how the Batwa used to make fire in the forest, what herbs they used for food, and the types of grass-thatched houses they lived in atop the trees.
