Morning: On our way to Karatu, we'll stop at Mto Wa Mbu Village, home to around 18,000 people from various tribal backgrounds, making it one of the few places in Tanzania where all 120 tribes are represented. We'll explore the village’s agricultural practices and visit the local market to gather fresh ingredients. At a local farmer's home, we’ll observe or assist in preparing traditional dishes like makande and chapati, which we’ll enjoy for a hot local lunch.
Afternoon: After lunch, we'll visit a local home to learn more about daily life and culture in the village. Following this immersive experience, we’ll continue our journey to Karatu, where we’ll check into our lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Enjoy free time to relax, explore the lodge's common areas, or unwind by the pool.

Hadzabe and Datoga Cultural Experience

Morning: Head to Lake Eyasi to meet two unique Tanzanian tribes. Visit the Hadzabe, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes, known for their ancient 'click' language and unchanged way of life for over 10,000 years. Explore the bush on foot, learning about their traditions and bird species in the area. Next, meet the Datoga tribe, skilled farmers and craftsmen who migrated here 3,000 years ago. Discover their culture, including distinctive circular facial scarification for beautification.

Lunch: Back at the lodge.

Afternoon: Relax at the lodge or explore independently. Visit the Karatu market to mingle with locals and experience the vibrant community life.

Dinner: At the lodge, ending the day with time to reflect on the rich cultural encounters.

Morning: Embark on a game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site formed millions of years ago from a volcanic collapse. Spanning 100 square miles, this "Africa’s Garden of Eden" is rich in history and wildlife, home to about 25,000 animals, including Cape buffalo, rhinos, wildebeests, zebras, and a dense lion population. The crater’s name comes from the Maasai, inspired by the sound of a cowbell. Various tribes, such as the Mbulu and Datoga, lived here before the Maasai took over in the 19th century.

Lunch: Enjoy a boxed lunch near the crater’s scenic hippo pool.

Afternoon: Ascend the crater through lush cloud forests and drive to Serengeti National Park, enjoying the scenery en route.

Dinner: At the lodge, with time to relax and prepare for the next day’s adventures.
