Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, your driver guide who speaks the language of your choice, let us know at the time of booking, he will pick you up and drive to Tarangire National Park, which takes approximately 2 hours (120 km/75 miles). Tarangire is renowned for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. After a picnic lunch inside the park, you will continue your safari and explore the park's wildlife. Later, head to Karatu for relaxation and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Karatu to Lake Natron

On this day, after breakfast, your journey continues with a drive to Lake Natron, which takes about 2 hours (100 km/62 miles). Lake Natron is famous for its striking red and pink waters and is a key breeding ground for flamingos. The surrounding area offers stunning views of the Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano. After exploring the lake and its surroundings, you'll may have your night at lake natron or return to Karatu for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart for the Serengeti National Park. This drive takes approximately 3.5 hours (170 km/105 miles), passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On your way, enjoy scenic views of the African landscape and the dramatic change in terrain as you approach the Serengeti. Upon arrival, begin your first game drive in the park's famous plains, home to the Big Five and other abundant wildlife.

On this day, you’ll drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. This journey takes approximately 3 hours (137 km/85 miles). The Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to an incredible concentration of wildlife. It is one of the best places in Africa to spot the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhinoceros). Enjoy a thrilling game drive in the crater before returning to Karatu for the night.

Today, you’ll begin your adventure early, waking up around 5 am to check in at the Ngorongoro gate. From there, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest free-standing caldera, known for its rich biodiversity and ample water supply. This is a prime location to see predators in action, along with the rare African black rhino and other wildlife that thrive in the valley. You’ll have about 5 to 6 hours to explore the crater’s incredible wildlife before checking out in the late afternoon, around 6 pm, to prepare for your next day’s journey.

You’ll enjoy a morning game drive through the park, where you'll also have a chance to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, and more. The park's beautiful scenery, with its lush forests and the shimmering lake, offers plenty of photo opportunities.

After your game drive, you’ll have a relaxing lunch in the park. Then, you’ll continue your afternoon game drive, spotting wildlife in the park's diverse habitats. By the end of the day, you'll head back to your lodge, with memories of an exciting day in one of Tanzania’s most beautiful parks.

On your final day, you'll head to Lake Manyara National Park, which takes about 2 hours (126 km/78 miles) from your accommodation in Karatu. This park is famous for its tree-climbing lions and is a birdwatcher’s paradise with over 500 species of birds. After a full morning of game viewing and a picnic lunch, you'll make your way back to Arusha for your departure.

Day 11

Arusha Town Tour

Today, you'll have the chance to explore Arusha city and visit some of its main attractions. You’ll start by visiting the Arusha Museum, then head to the Snake Park, located about 10km from the city center. There are also several wildlife centers where you can feed animals at the zoo. You’ll also visit Chemka Hot Springs, which is about 40 to 70km from the city.

If you're up for some adventure, you can take a day hike to Mount Meru. The hike will take you through Meru Waterfalls, and you may also get a chance to see Lake Momela or Lake Duluti. The hike through the Meru Forest takes about 4 hours, and you’ll be guided by a ranger. The forest is home to many animals, including Colobus monkeys, buffaloes, antelopes, giraffes, and even elephants.
You can choose to have a hot lunch at a nearby lodge or hotel, or bring along a picnic lunch for a more relaxed meal during your hike.
