Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest is the major highlight of the trip. You'll set off early with the guides after breakfast to track the gorillas with a packed lunch and enough drinking water. Each gorilla encounter is different and has its rewards. You'll watch adult gorillas feeding, climbing, grooming, and resting as the youngsters play and swing from vines in a pleasant, good-humored show. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a magnificent green swaddle of dense rainforest, so ancient that it survived the last Ice Age! A recently proclaimed World Heritage Site, it is one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth. Its unique, precious flora sustains roughly half of the world's population of mountain gorillas (estimated at six hundred). After the trek, you'll start your journey to Kisoro town.
