Serengeti National Park to Karatu

The Serengeti is a breathtaking wilderness, renowned for its endless grassy plains that provide exceptional wildlife viewing. Its climate and ecosystem have remained virtually unchanged for millions of years, preserving a landscape teeming with life. While the park is home to an abundance of animals, it is most famous for the Great Migration, where massive herds of wildebeest, along with zebras and antelopes, move in search of fresh pastures. This incredible spectacle occurs year-round—you just need to know where to find them! Instead of asking when to visit, the real question is where to witness this natural marvel at any given time. Beyond the migration, the Serengeti offers prime opportunities to spot predators, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Experiencing this legendary ecosystem is truly transformative. In the afternoon, you will begin your journey back to Karatu, with more unforgettable wildlife encounters along the way.

Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

After breakfast, you will head to Lake Manyara National Park, a small yet remarkably diverse gem located 120 km west of Arusha. This unique park offers an intriguing contrast of scale—though one of Africa’s narrowest parks, it is dominated by the towering cliffs of the Great Rift Escarpment. At its heart lies the shimmering, alkaline Lake Manyara, which expands and contracts with the seasons, attracting thousands of wading birds, including flamingos and over 500 bird species. In the dense evergreen forest, you may encounter troops of baboons and herds of elephants, while the park is also famed for its elusive tree-climbing lions. After an exciting game drive, you will enjoy a picnic lunch in the park. Later, you will bid farewell to your guide as you are dropped off at a location of your choice—whether in Arusha, at Kilimanjaro International Airport, or Arusha Airport. We hope your journey with Gowitos Safaris and Holidays has been an unforgettable adventure!
