Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park
Your safari guide will pick you up from your accommodation after breakfast. Today, you’ll drive to Tarangire National Park, which is about two and a half hours away on well-maintained tarmac roads. The park is named after the Tarangire River, the primary water source for wildlife in the area during the dry season. This ‘river of warthogs’ attracts an abundance of wildlife, including large elephant herds often seen gathered along the river. You may also spot giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, all of which are closely followed by predators like lions and leopards. Tarangire is famous for having more breeding species of birds than any other place in the world! The park is also home to massive, ancient Baobab trees, some of which are believed to be over a thousand years old.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot within the park, then continue your game drive before heading to your accommodation in Karatu for the night.
