Your Explore Green Africa Safaris guide will pick you up from your accommodations after breakfast for your journey to Tarangire National Park, a two-and-a-half-hour drive along well-maintained tarmac roads. Named after the Tarangire River, the park serves as the sole water source for wildlife in the region during the dry season.

Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, offering incredible opportunities to observe these majestic creatures by the river. You’ll also encounter giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, with predators like lions and leopards often nearby. The park is home to the highest diversity of bird life on earth, and is dotted with ancient baobab trees, some believed to be over a thousand years old.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site inside the park before continuing your game drive. Later, you’ll head to your accommodations for the night.

After breakfast, you’ll depart from Serengeti National Park and head towards the Ngorongoro Crater. As you approach, your first view of the crater is nothing short of awe-inspiring—it appears to be a seemingly forgotten world, shielded by towering volcanic walls. Inside this vast caldera, you'll find a pristine wilderness, with expansive savannahs, clusters of acacia woodlands, and shimmering lakes and swamps.

Descending into the crater is an adventure, taking you through varied landscapes until you reach the crater floor. Here, you’ll be surrounded by abundant wildlife, including wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and a rich variety of bird species—more than 500 in total.
