Day 1

Upon arrival, you will be met by a Big Apes Africa representative who will transport you to Musanze Town, situated near Volcanoes National Park, in preparation for your Golden Monkey trekking excursion the following day. You will then continue on to the Iby'Iwacu village experience which offers a unique opportunity to learn about Rwanda's traditional culture and way of life. Here, you will have the opportunity to participate in various activities, such as arrow shooting, drumming, dancing, and crafts, while interacting with former poachers turned conservationists and their families. Once this activity is complete you will be transferred to your lodge to relax for the night.

After breakfast, you'll depart for Volcanoes National Park, where a comprehensive briefing will
precede a guided forest trek to observe the playful golden monkeys. This experience offers a
unique opportunity to see these stunning Albertine Rift endemics in their natural habitat,
providing an excellent alternative to gorilla trekking. Your time with the golden monkeys will be
approximately one hour. Following the trek, you'll be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
National Park, where you will prepare for gorilla trekking excursion for the next day.

Day 3

Following an early breakfast, you will proceed to the briefing point in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park’s Forest, where you will receive essential information regarding your Mountain Gorilla adventure. It is recommended that you bring sufficient drinking water and a packed lunch. Additionally, porters are available for hire $20 to assist with carrying bags and providing support on challenging terrain. After the briefing, you will be divided into groups of eight and accompanied by a park ranger into the forest for a guided trek. You will spend approximately one hour observing the Mountain Gorillas. Please note that rain gear is essential, as Bwindi is a tropical rainforest. Upon completion of the gorilla trekking excursion, you will be transferred to Kalinzu Central Forest Reserve, in preparation for your chimpanzee trekking adventure the following day.

After breakfast, you will proceed to Kalinzu Forest, managed by the National Forest Authority, for a chimpanzee tracking excursion. After lunch, you will proceed to the Mweya Peninsula for a scenic boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This tranquil experience offers opportunities to observe elephants, hippos, crocodiles, water birds, and other wildlife. In the evening, you may choose to embark on a game drive in search of elephants, antelopes, lions, and other wildlife, or opt to relax and unwind at your lodge.

Following an early breakfast, you will embark on a game drive to spot an array of wildlife, including elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards, and more. As one the most biodiverse parks in Uganda, Queen Elizabeth National Park boasts an impressive checklist of 95 mammal species and 610 bird species. After the game drive, you will begin your return journey to Kigali, making a scenic stop at Lake Bunyonyi, renowned for its breathtaking beauty. Here, you will have the opportunity to unwind, take in the stunning views after which you will continue on to Kigali International Airport.
