Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, our warm and professional Engozi Safaris Uganda guide will be there to welcome you. After a brief introduction, you’ll embark on a scenic drive across the rolling hills of Rwanda, crossing into Uganda towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Along the way, enjoy breathtaking landscapes, charming villages, and glimpses of the Virunga Mountains. Upon arrival, check in at your comfortable lodge, nestled in the forest, where you can relax and soak in the tranquil surroundings. Enjoy a delicious dinner and rest well—tomorrow, you embark on the unforgettable adventure of gorilla trekking!

Day 2
Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Your gorilla trekking adventure begins early in the morning with a hearty breakfast at your lodge. By 7:00 AM, you'll head to the park headquarters for a briefing from expert rangers on trekking guidelines, safety protocols, and gorilla behavior. You’ll then be assigned to a small group and led into Mgahinga dense jungle, guided by experienced trackers who follow fresh signs of the gorillas' movements.
The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family. Expect to hike through thick vegetation, up steep trails, and across streams—comfortable hiking boots, long sleeves, and a walking stick are highly recommended. The moment you find the gorillas is truly magical. You’ll spend an awe-inspiring hour observing them up close as they interact, feed, and play, capturing unforgettable photos while maintaining a respectful distance.
After this once-in-a-lifetime encounter, you’ll trek back, receive your trekking certificate. And transfer back to lodge.

Day 3
Golden Monkey Trekking and transfer to Kigali Rwanda
Golden Monkey Trekking and transfer to Kigali Rwanda
Your golden monkey trekking in Mgahinga Park begins early in the morning. After breakfast at your lodge, you'll head to the park headquarters for a briefing from expert rangers about the unique golden monkeys, their behavior, and conservation efforts. You’ll then trek through the bamboo forests of the Virunga Mountains, following trails where these playful and rare primates are known to roam.
The trek lasts between 2 to 4 hours, depending on the monkeys’ movements. Once you find them, you’ll spend a magical hour watching their lively interactions. Their striking golden-orange fur and expressive faces make for incredible photos and unforgettable memories.
After the trek, you’ll return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation before beginning the scenic transfer back to Kigali. Along the way, enjoy stunning views of rolling hills and terraced landscapes. If time allows, we can make a stop at the Kigali Genocide Memorial or a local craft market.
