Day 1

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park

Upon your arrival in Arusha or at the airport, our experienced tour guide/driver will greet you and escort you to your hotel. There, you will meet our knowledgeable safari guide, who will provide a brief overview of your upcoming adventure. Following this introduction, your journey will take you to Lake Manyara National Park. You’ll arrive in time to enjoy lunch at your lodge, after which you’ll venture into the park for an afternoon of exploration.

Lake Manyara National Park is renowned for its stunning setting at the base of the western escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. The park features a vast, shallow soda lake that spans two-thirds of its area, creating a unique and diverse ecosystem. This habitat draws an array of wildlife, including one of Africa’s most significant elephant populations, the iconic tree-climbing lions, and countless flamingos that gather to feed on the lake’s algae.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, we’ll embark on our safari adventure, descending 600 meters into the stunning Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of wildlife exploration. This iconic crater is renowned for having one of the highest concentrations of African wildlife, hosting around 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania’s rare black rhinos. Thanks to its year-round water sources and abundant vegetation, the crater sustains a diverse range of species, such as herds of wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, eland, warthogs, hippos, and massive African elephants.

The crater is also famous for its thriving predator population, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard, which can be a challenge to spot without a keen eye. We’ll take a break for a picnic lunch inside the crater, surrounded by breathtaking scenery and wildlife. After completing the game drive, we’ll return to your accommodation, where a delicious dinner will be waiting for you.

Its landscape is dominated by Acacia woodlands, massive African Baobab trees, and expansive swamps in the southern region. During Tanzania’s dry season, Tarangire is also famous for hosting some of the largest elephant herds on the continent. Additionally, the park is home to rare species such as the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, and the Ashy Starling.

Following an extensive game drive, we’ll enjoy lunch before departing the park and heading to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight back to Zanzibar or your onward journey home.
