SGR Train to Dodoma, Drive to Iringa via Mtera

Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam and a transfer to Standard Gauge Railway station. Upon arrival, you will board the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) train to Dodoma, offering a scenic ride through Tanzania’s countryside. Once in Dodoma, our driver will meet you for a road trip to Iringa, passing through the Mtera Dam, one of Tanzania’s largest hydroelectric power sources, offering breathtaking views of the dam and surrounding landscapes.

Upon arrival in Iringa, you will check in at Sunset Hotel, where you can unwind, enjoy a delicious dinner, and take in the peaceful atmosphere of this historic town. If time allows, a short evening walk around Iringa Town will give you insights into its colonial history and vibrant culture.
