Nairobi to Masai Mara – Scenic Journey & First Game Drive

Your adventure begins with a hotel or apartment pick-up, followed by a transfer to our central departure point, where you'll meet your fellow travelers. Departing Nairobi in the morning, we embark on a breathtaking drive through the Great Rift Valley, pausing at a scenic viewpoint to admire the vast landscapes and capture stunning photos.

Upon arrival in the Masai Mara, you’ll check in at Mara Sopa Lodge, where a delicious lunch awaits. After a brief rest, we set off for an exciting afternoon game drive, offering you the first glimpse of the Mara’s incredible wildlife. As the sun sets, watch for big cats preparing for their evening hunt and herds of elephants roaming the golden plains. Return to the lodge by 6:30 p.m. for a relaxing evening, enjoying dinner and unwinding under the African night sky. Overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

After an early breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive in the heart of the Masai Mara, following the Great Migration’s path. With a picnic lunch packed for the journey, you'll explore the vast plains where over 1.5 million wildebeest, accompanied by zebras and gazelles, embark on their treacherous annual journey in search of greener pastures.

A key highlight of the day is a visit to the Mara River, the dramatic crossing point where thousands of wildebeest brave the crocodile-infested waters in a life-or-death struggle. This spectacle is one of nature’s most breathtaking events, drawing not only migrating herds but also predators like lions, leopards, and hyenas, eagerly waiting for their next meal.

Sunrise Safari, Maasai Cultural Experience & Return to Nairobi

Rise early for a final morning game drive as you exit the park, capturing the breathtaking Masai Mara sunrise as wildlife awakens across the golden savannah. This is a prime opportunity to spot predators on the hunt or witness the last waves of the wildebeest migration before they continue their journey.

You have the option, you have the optional opportunity to visit a Maasai village, where you can engage with the Maasai people, learn about their rich traditions, and experience their famous jumping dance and vibrant beadwork.

By mid-morning, bid farewell to the Masai Mara and embark on the journey back to Nairobi, enjoying a scenic picnic lunch en route. Anticipated arrival in Nairobi is around 4:00 p.m., where you will be dropped off at your hotel or preferred location, marking the end of an unforgettable migration adventure.
