On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a company representative will meet and welcome you before transferring you to your pre-booked hotel in Kigali for dinner and overnight. After freshening up, you will meet your safari guide in the hotel lobby for a briefing.

Day 2

Have breakfast and then set off on a tour of the city of Kigali, where you will visit places such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial and the local markets. Later, you will enjoy a succulent lunch before travelling to the border to cross into Uganda and then to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, famous for the rare mountain gorillas and the primate life in this forest is quite fantastic, and there is also an incredible variety of flora and fauna. This forest is also home to 348 species of birds, which is why it is known as a paradise for birdwatchers. Check in at the booked lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

After breakfast, with packed lunch and drinking water, as you will be spending long hours in search of these gentle giants, you will be transferred to the gorilla tracking information office for a briefing prior to gorilla tracking at 8am. After the briefing, the rangers will guide you into the forest to track these gentle giants, the mountain gorillas. Experience the thrill of spending time watching the gorillas as they interact with each other. You are allowed to witness the interaction of these close relatives of humans for an hour. Afterwards, return to your booked lodge to relax. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 4

Golden monkey tracking - Transfer to Kigali

Golden monkey tracking - Transfer to Kigali

While watching the sunrise over the rolling hills of Kisoro. Wake up and have breakfast while checking out of the hotel and drive to the park headquarters for briefing from the ranger guide who will share information on what to expect while in the Virunga volcanoes searching for the golden monkeys. After this short brief, you will start your hike up in search of the golden monkeys.

Golden monkeys are swift in their movements unlike the gorillas and you will follow them as they feed. They love feeding on bamboo shoots among other foods like fruits, vegetation and sometimes ants. You are only allowed to spend 1 hour with the golden monkeys before you start your descent back to the starting point. Have lunch and later drive to Kigali to catch up with your flight.
