The park’s landscape features dense vegetation, including elephant grass and acacia woodlands. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, often seen gathering near the river, making it one of the best places to observe these majestic creatures in their natural habitat, from playful calves to towering bulls. Alongside them, you may spot giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, all of which are closely followed by predators like lions and leopards. Serengeti is one of the most renowned wildlife sanctuaries in the world, famous for its breathtaking beauty and ecological significance. It hosts the largest concentration of plains game in Africa and is best known for the Great Wildebeest Migration. Every year, over a million wildebeest and around 200,000 zebras travel from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains in October and November, then west and north after the long rains in April, May, and June. Their powerful migration instinct is so strong that no drought, gorge, or crocodile-infested river can stop them. Serengeti is truly the heart of this legendary migration. The park offers an abundance of wildlife, vast plains, and stunning sunrises and sunsets that will captivate your soul. In the late afternoon, you’ll head to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay at serengeti katikati Tented Lodge.
