Day 1

Pick up and Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Pick up and Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Early in the morning after breakfast at your hotel, our company representative who will be your driver guide will pick you up from your hotel and brief you before heading out to Murchison Falls which is in the northern part of Uganda. Along the way, you will make a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola where rhinos are being reintroduced to the wild in Uganda. This will help you have a complete feel of the African Big Five mammals, as it is the rhinos, out of the Big Five that are missing in Murchison Falls National Park. You will go for a trek around the sanctuary on foot. Later proceed to Murchison Falls National park and upon entry, visit the top of the falls and later proceed for your lunch. You will later in the evening go for an evening game drive to lookout for animals that include the lions, giraffes, leopards, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, among others and later proceed to your lodge to check-in for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Journey to Murchison Falls National Park

Following breakfast on the second day of your nine-day wildlife and gorilla safari in Uganda, your driver guide will meet you at the hotel to embark on an exciting journey to Murchison Falls National Park, situated in the northwestern region of Uganda. Your journey will include an exciting stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking, followed by a delightful lunch break in Masindi before continuing on your adventure. After lunch, you will embark on the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, an optional evening game drive awaits, offering the chance to observe magnificent wildlife such as buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, elephants, and giraffes as they make their way back to their resting areas. Day 3

Exciting morning game drive

Exciting morning game drive

Following a hearty breakfast on the third day of your nine-day Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari, your driver guide will arrive at the lodge to take you on a morning game drive, where you will have the chance to observe the early risers in their natural habitat. On the game drive, you will have the chance to encounter vast herds of elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, giraffes, lions, leopards, and a variety of bird species, among others. Following the exhilarating game drive, you will head back to the lodge to enjoy a delightful lunch.

After lunch, embark on an exhilarating boat cruise to the base of the falls. Here, you will have the opportunity to witness large herds of hippos and crocodiles in the water, along with buffaloes, elephants, and antelopes along the shores. Keep your eyes peeled for aquatic birds. Following the exhilarating boat ride, you will journey back to the lodge for a delightful dinner and a cozy overnight stay.

Journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Following a hearty breakfast on the fifth day of your nine-day Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari, you will check out of the lodge and rendezvous with your driver guide for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the second largest national park in Uganda. Upon arrival in the park, you will embark on a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains, where you can encounter lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, and a variety of bird species, among others. After the exhilarating game drive, you will head back to the lodge to enjoy a delightful lunch.

In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise. After lunch, you will journey to the landing site close to Mweya safari lodge for an unforgettable experience along the Kazinga channel, a stunning 40km waterway that links Lake George and Lake Edward.

Embark on an exhilarating chimpanzee trek

Following breakfast on the sixth day of your nine-day Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari, your driver guide will collect you from the lodge and take you to Kyambura gorge for an exciting chimpanzee trekking briefing. Following the briefing, you will embark on an exhilarating trek through the forest, seeking out the chimpanzees. This journey can last anywhere from 2 to 5 hours, depending on the whereabouts of these fascinating creatures. Once they are discovered, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself for one hour in their natural environment.

Following an hour spent with the chimpanzees, you will head back to the lodge for lunch. Afterward, prepare for an exciting evening game drive, offering a chance to spot some of the animals you may have overlooked during the earlier adventure. Following the evening game drive, you will journey back to the lodge for a delightful dinner and a night of rest.

Following breakfast on the seventh day of your nine-day Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide for a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, renowned as the premier destination for gorilla encounters, as it is home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas. The drive spans approximately 3 to 4 hours, with an exciting stopover at the Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park along the way. The Ishasha sector is renowned for its unique lions that can be spotted lounging in the branches of acacia and fig trees during the game drive. The Ishasha sector is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, and Uganda kobs, among others. Following the game drive, you will enjoy a delightful lunch before continuing your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Embarking on an exhilarating journey to trek gorillas

Following a hearty breakfast on the eighth day of your nine-day Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari, you will prepare a packed lunch. Your driver guide will then arrive at the lodge to take you to the park headquarters, where you will receive an informative briefing on the rules, regulations, and what to expect during your gorilla trekking adventure. Following the briefing, you will be assigned a gorilla family to explore and a park guide who is well-versed in the ways of the gorillas and familiar with the winding trails of the jungle. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 7 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location, as they frequently roam in search of food. Then, you will reunite with your driver guide for a transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

After having an early breakfast, go for a morning horse back ride in Lake Mburo National Park. This park is famous for zebras, impalas, giraffes, elands, Cape buffalos, and many tropical bird species. Afterwards, check out of the hotel and transfer to Entebbe International Airport to readily catch your travel back home in the evening as you say farewell to the pearl of Africa!
