On this day, your assigned driver guide will pick you up at your Kigali address and take you on a city tour that includes visits to the Kigali genocide memorial site, marketplaces, a museum, and other historical sites. Later, travel to Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda, passing through stunning terraced hills with views of the terrain and altitude of the area. You will have a relaxing evening at the lodge as you prepare for the next day's adventures.

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the lodge, fueling up for an exciting day ahead. Today, you will have the unique opportunity to track the playful golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park. After a briefing from the park rangers on the rules and guidelines for golden monkey trekking, set off into the lush forest with your expert guide.

As you trek through the verdant vegetation, listen for the distinctive calls of the golden monkeys and keep your eyes peeled for their shimmering coats. Golden monkeys are known for their acrobatic antics and social interactions, providing a captivating wildlife encounter. Spend quality time observing and photographing these charming primates in their natural habitat before returning to the lodge for a well-deserved lunch. Thereafter, head to the border Rwanda to Uganda where after clearing we will proceed to Bwindi.

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking and The Batwa Community Visit

Gorilla Trekking and The Batwa Community Visit

Enjoy an early breakfast to fuel up for the day’s adventure. Head to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing on the trekking procedures, safety measures, and the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. Embark on a guided trek into the dense forest in search of a gorilla family. The trek can last anywhere from 2 to 8 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. Enjoy the breathtaking experience of observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat for up to one hour. Carry a packed lunch to enjoy during the trek. Afternoon activities, including a Batwa community visit. Later, head for dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 4

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha Sector

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha Sector

In the morning, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth NP with en route game viewing in the Ishasha sector for the tree-climbing lions. Queen Elizabeth National Park is located in southwestern Uganda and is most often included in visitors’ itineraries. It is the second largest park in the country and is located at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain range, next to Lake Edward and Lake George, which are joined by the Kazinga channel. Few reserves in the world have such a high biodiversity with landscapes including savannah, bushland, wetlands, and lush forests.

Have an evening game drive where you will you see elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, different species of antelope, exciting predators, such as lions, leopards, civets, genets, and serval cats.

Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel

After breakfast, set off on a morning game drive where you can search for Cape buffalo, herds of elephants, and elusive big cats such as lions and leopards, among others. Queen Elizabeth National Park is 200 kilometers of well-maintained game viewing tracks with an astonishing 5000 hippos, 2500 elephants, and over 10,000 buffalo thriving in its grasslands and shorelines. This park guarantees sightings of some of Africa’s most iconic species. Following the game drive, return to your accommodation for some rest and lunch.

After lunch, you will embark on a two-hour boat trip along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lakes George and Edward. During this excursion, you will be captivated by the sight of wildlife, including giant hippos, elephants, and crocodiles, as well as a variety of bird species along the water's edge. In the evening, you will enjoy dinner and spend the night at your accommodation.

After a cup of coffee, you will transfer to Kibale NP with an en-route view of the crater lakes region of Ndali and Kasende. Kibale National Park is renowned for its diverse primate population, including chimpanzees, black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L'Hoest's monkeys, and Uganda mangabeys (Lophocebus ugandae).

In the afternoon, you will go chimpanzee trekking; you will have the opportunity to observe these fascinating creatures swinging through the trees and foraging for wild fruits and spend some time with them.
