Transfer from Kigali to Uganda's Bwindi Forest NP

Day one of your adventure begins with a pickup from Kigali International Airport. Your experienced driver will greet you and whisk you away in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle, beginning your journey to the breathtaking Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive itself is a scenic adventure, offering glimpses of Rwandan countryside before crossing the border into Uganda.

Mid-morning, you'll arrive in Kisoro, a bustling town nestled near the Virunga volcanoes. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, immerse yourself in the captivating culture of the Batwa pygmies. Engage with them respectfully, observing their unique customs and perhaps even witnessing a traditional dance. This authentic cultural experience provides a powerful insight into a different world.

After the Batwa, your journey continues to Bwindi. You'll arrive at your pre-booked lodge in the late evening, allowing you time to settle in & prepare for the highlight of your trip – gorilla trekking!

Gorilla Trekking and Transfer back to Kigali

After breakfast, your driver will collect you and transfer you to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (UWA) headquarters. Here, you'll receive a comprehensive briefing on gorilla trekking, covering essential dos and don'ts to ensure both your safety and the well-being of the gorillas.

Following the briefing, you'll embark on your unforgettable gorilla trek. The duration of the trek varies depending on the gorillas' location that day and can range from two to six strenuous hours through the lush, verdant rainforest. Remember to wear appropriate hiking boots and clothing. The reward awaits: a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with a gorilla family, spending a magical hour observing these magnificent creatures.

After this experience, you'll retrace your steps back to the lodge, taking time to unwind from the exertion. A well-deserved lunch awaits before your journey back to Kigali. Your driver will transport you back to either your Kigali lodge or directly to Kigali International Airport.
