Hundreds of animals gather on the Tarangire River's banks to drink water. Mto wa Mbu - Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, depart towards the most famous national park in the world, the Serengeti. The driving itself, although long, is spectacular. This will be an unforgettable moment for anyone seeing it for the first time. As you progress well into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means, in local language, "endless plains". The park has 6,900 sq miles (18,000 sq km) and for most of it, the plains will stretch to the horizon defying your senses and perception of distances. It is the home of the Great Migration and to 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras and all kinds of antelopes. As for big cats and large predators, it's the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, with many television scenes like the famous River Crossings having been filmed in this park.

Central Serengeti National Park to Northern Serengeti
After breakfast, you will wind through the Serengeti towards the northern region, stopping to experience more wonder on the way! While it boasts abundant wildlife, the Serengeti is best known for its annual great migration. During the migration, vast numbers of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope move in an annual pattern, constantly seeking fresh grazing. The migration can be found during any given month, you just need to know where to look! At this time of year, the migration usually is in the Northern Serengeti.
Overnight will be a mid-range seasonal tented camp.

Today will be spent observing the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration and the Mara River crossing. As the wildebeest make their long journey from the Serengeti to Kenya's Masai Mara National Reserve for the mating season, they are accompanied by other species such as zebras, impalas, and gazelles.
After breakfast, you'll embark on a full-day game drive along the Mara River. If you're fortunate, you’ll be able to see the Mara River crossing event, where hundreds of wildebeest brave the crocodile-infested waters en route to the Mara.
In the afternoon, you’ll have a picnic lunch before heading out for another game drive to look for more wildlife. Afterward, you’ll return to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
This morning, you will gently wind your way back through the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Area, seeing more animals on the way (it is common to see a journey of giraffes on the lush slopes). You should reach the crater by lunchtime.
When you first see Ngorongoro Crater, it looks like a forgotten world. A pristine wilderness is concealed by the steep volcanic walls, including sweeping savannahs, pockets of acacia woodland, and glistening lakes and swamps. The crater was created when a large volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself two to three million years ago. The drive down into the crater is an adventure in itself, and when you reach the crater floor, you quickly find yourself amongst large numbers of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and more than 500 bird species. The crater provides the best chance of seeing the endangered black rhino, which can sometimes be spotted in the open grasslands. After an afternoon game drive, you will drive to your accommodation in Mto wa mbu.

Day 7
Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha
Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha
This morning, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Your final destination on this epic safari! Manyara is a small but diverse park 120km west of Arusha. Everything you will see here is on a different scale. It is compact (one of the narrowest parks in Africa) and epic (the Great Rift Escarpment towers over Lake Manyara’s western boundary). The park’s namesake is a shallow salt lake. The lake covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons, and is home to thousands of wading birds (including flamingos and over 500 other bird species). You may see baboons and elephants in the park’s thick evergreen forest and watch for the tree-climbing lions that have become famous throughout Africa.
You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park.
After your game drive, you will be dropped off at a place you choose, e.g., Arusha, Kilimanjaro International Airport, or Arusha Airport. We hope you have enjoyed your adventure with Memorable Vacation in Africa.
