Day 3

Today you will have a morning game drive in Ngorongoro Crater, followed by a scenic transfer to Serengeti National Park from Karatu. Early Morning depart from Tarangire to Ngorongoro Crater Early breakfast at the lodge. Depart from Tarangire and drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area Gate. Descend 600 meters (2,000 feet) into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the best wildlife viewing areas in Africa. Morning Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater Explore the crater floor, home to over 25,000 animals, including: Big Five (Lions, Elephants, Buffalos, Leopards, and Black Rhinos. Hippos in Gorigor Swamp. Flamingos & waterbirds at Lake Magadi. Cheetahs, hyenas, and large herds of zebras and wildebeests. Midday: Drive to Serengeti National Park. Exit Ngorongoro and start the drive to Serengeti National Park via the Naabi Hill Gate. Stop at Naabi Hill for lunch and registration. Enter Serengeti and enjoy an en-route game drive toward your lodge/camp.

A game drive in Serengeti offers incredible opportunities to spot the Big Five, predators in action, and large herds of wildebeests and zebras. Depart for an early morning game drive (best time to see predators hunting). Afternoon: More Wildlife Viewing & Scenic Drives, resume the game drive, looking for more wildlife action. Evening: Sundowner & Return to Camp/Lodge

Driving from Serengeti National Park to Olduvai Gorge, an important archaeological site, before continuing to Karatu for an overnight stay. Learn about the famous discoveries made by Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey, including early hominid remains dating back over 1.8 million years. Enjoy a short-guided tour of the gorge, with breathtaking views of the Great Rift Valley. Continue driving towards Karatu, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
