Day 1

Arrival in Kigali & Transfer to Musanze

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our experienced guide, who will brief you about your safari. If you are already in Kigali, we can pick you up from your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may have a short city tour, visiting sites like the Kigali Genocide Memorial to gain insight into Rwanda’s history.

Afterward, you will embark on a scenic drive to Musanze, located in the foothills of the Virunga Mountains. The journey takes approximately 2.5 hours, offering breathtaking views of the rolling hills and countryside. Upon arrival in Musanze, you will check in at your lodge, where you can unwind and prepare for the exciting adventure ahead.

In the evening, you can relax at the lodge, enjoy a delicious dinner, and rest for the next day’s golden monkey tracking experience.

Day 2

Golden Monkey Tracking & Transfer to Bwindi

Golden Monkey Tracking & Transfer to Bwindi

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing on golden monkey tracking. These playful primates, known for their golden-orange fur, are unique to the Virunga Mountains and provide an incredible trekking experience. The hike usually takes about 2-4 hours, depending on their movement, and you will have one hour to observe and photograph them in their natural habitat.

Once the tracking is complete, you will return to the lodge for lunch before setting off for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. The journey will take you through stunning landscapes, crossing the border at Cyanika or Katuna before entering Uganda’s lush forests.

Upon arrival at your lodge in Bwindi, you will check in, have dinner, and rest in preparation for the ultimate gorilla trekking experience the next day.

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Trail Experience

Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Trail Experience

After an early breakfast, you will head to the Bwindi National Park headquarters for a briefing on mountain gorilla trekking. You will be assigned a trekking group and an experienced ranger guide, who will lead you through the dense rainforest in search of the gorillas.

Gorilla trekking can take anywhere between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once you find them, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing their behavior, taking photos, and witnessing their interactions up close. This once-in-a-lifetime experience allows you to connect with one of the world’s most endangered species in their natural habitat.

After the trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch and some rest before heading for the Batwa Cultural Experience in the afternoon.

After breakfast, you will embark on a scenic drive back to Kigali International Airport. The journey takes about 4-5 hours, passing through rolling hills, tea plantations, and small villages, giving you a final glimpse of the beauty of Uganda and Rwanda.

Depending on your flight schedule, you may have a brief stopover in Kigali for last-minute shopping or a meal before being dropped off at the airport for your departure flight. This marks the end of your incredible 4-day adventure tracking golden monkeys and mountain gorillas.
