Moshi - Marangu Gate - Mandara Hut
After being picked up from your lodging in Arusha, you'll travel to Kilimanjaro National Park. Here, you'll communicate with your guides and start your ascent through the lush rainforest that covers Kilimanjaro's lower slopes. When you hike for 5–6 hours through this old jungle, you can see animals like black-and-white colobus monkeys and have a mini-safari. You will spend the night in the nice Mandara Huts, which have flush toilets and solar lights for your comfort. You won't be seeing those anytime soon, I assure you!

Mandara Hut - Horombo Hut
Today’s hike begins early, as you have a long day ahead, covering over 11 kilometers to reach the Maundi Crater. As you trek, the landscape transitions from the lush rainforest to the more barren and rugged alpine region. The change in scenery marks a shift in the environment, offering unique perspectives of Kilimanjaro's diverse ecosystems. Once you arrive at the Maundi Crater, if the weather cooperates, you’ll be treated to stunning panoramic views of the Kibo Glacier. The crisp mountain air and the awe-inspiring sights will leave you in admiration of the majesty of the mountain. After taking in the breathtaking scenery, you’ll settle in for the evening, ready for another day of exploration. The journey may be tough, but the rewards, both in the form of views and experiences, make every step worth it.

Day 3
Horombo Hut - Kibo Hut
Horombo Hut - Kibo Hut
Today marks another challenging day of hiking as you make your way to Kibo Hut, where you’ll camp before your summit attempt. The hike will see you climb nearly 1,000 meters, passing your final watering point at 4,130 meters. As you continue your ascent, the terrain becomes more rugged, and the altitude starts to take its toll. By the afternoon, you’ll reach Kibo Hut, where you'll settle in for the night. Be sure to hydrate well during your early dinner, as the next day will begin bright and early with your summit attempt. The air will be thinner, so it’s essential to take in enough fluids and prepare mentally for the climb ahead. The excitement and anticipation of reaching the summit will fuel your determination as you rest for the big day to come.
