Day 1

Fly to Addis Ababa – Gondar Drive through wheat fields to the old mountain capital of Gondar. Gondar has a rich history. With its beautiful and strategic mountain setting, the 17th-century capital was once the crossroads of several major caravan routes, and was also occupied by the Italians during World War II. This afternoon, explore Gondar’s castles and the Church Overnight at a hotel.

Day 2
Gondar-Sankaber
Gondar-Sankaber
Gondar-Sankaber (3250 m), 3-4 hours After breakfast, drive from Gondar to the park headquarters in Debark. The 100 km journey takes a couple of hours. Arrange your permits to the park and pick up your scout at the headquarters. Then, drive farther for about 40 minutes before you start your first day introductory walk. Encounter gelada baboons along this hike and overnight at Sankaber. Overnight camping.

Day 3
Sankaber-Gich
Sankaber-Gich
Sankaber-Gich (3600 m), 5-6 hrs this day is the day that we arrange all the trekking staff including mules and Muleteers for packing and transport of camping gears and all foodstuffs for the trek. It is this day that we start trekking in the national park. We walk from Sankaber to Geech, which will take between 5 – 6 hours. After about 1 and half hours walk we see the Jinnbar River and falls, we will cross the river later in the day. After crossing the river, we ascend for about two hour to Geech, which is full of Giant Lobelias. The scenery is wonderful, and heard of the endemic Gelada Baboon can be seen on our way.

Day 4
Gich-Chennek
Gich-Chennek
Gich-Chennek (3600 m), 7-8 hrs From Gich camp, stroll through endless fields of Giant Lobelia before reaching the towering cliffs of Imet-Gogo (3926 m). Spend some time to absorb the superb views over the mountain valleys below and strange shaped domes in the distance, which you will see from up close at the end of the trip. After that, descend into the Jinbahir River Valley. Climb to a summit of 4070 m where you will have lunch. After lunch, descend to Chennek for about two hours along a steep trail. Sit down on a bench at the escarpment and try to spot Walia Ibex in late afternoon or early morning. Sometimes Walia Ibex visit the edges of the campsite. Overnight camping.

Day 5
Chenek-Buwahit
Chenek-Buwahit
Chenek-Buwahit-Gondar, 5-6 hrs Climb the second highest peak in the Simien mountains Buwahit (4430 m) rewarding with the gorgeous scenery watching from frog perspective side. In addition, you will have a chance to see and enjoy with one of the endemic wild animals in Ethiopia particularly in the Simien Mountains called Walia Ibex (a goat family). You have also a chance of closer look for the highest Mountain peak in Ethiopia, Ras Dejen (4543 m). and walk back down to Chenek camp where the car waiting you to pick and drive back to Gondar for about 4:30 hrs. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 6
Fly to Gondar-Addis Ababa
Fly to Gondar-Addis Ababa
Fly to Gondar-Addis Ababa After breakfast, drive back to Addis Ababa which enables you to be there at the midday. Enjoy the rest of your time in the afternoon in the city of Addis Ababa and if necessary you can do a souvenir shopping.
