Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up from your accommodation, and you'll begin your drive to Tarangire National Park, which takes about two and a half hours on well-maintained tarmac roads. The park is named after the Tarangire River, the primary water source for wildlife during the dry season. Known for its large elephant families, you may also spot giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, and a variety of predators, including lions and leopards. Tarangire is home to more breeding bird species than anywhere else on Earth.

The park is also famous for its ancient Baobab trees, some of which are over a thousand years old. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated spot inside the park before continuing your game drive. Afterward, you'll head to your campsite an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will start with your visit to Mto Wa Mbu village before driving straight to Serengeti National Park.

The Serengeti is renowned for its vast open grasslands, offering exceptional wildlife sightings. While it’s home to abundant wildlife, the Serengeti is especially famous for the annual Great Migration, where massive herds of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope move in search of fresh grazing. Depending on the time of year, you may have the chance to witness one of the "Seven Wonders of the Natural World."

After breakfast, you’ll journey towards Ngorongoro Crater, with more wonders to enjoy along the way. The Crater, formed millions of years ago when a massive volcano exploded and collapsed, is a pristine wilderness with sweeping savannah, acacia woodlands, and glistening lakes and swamps. The drive down into the Crater is an adventure itself, and once at the Crater floor, you’ll encounter abundant wildlife including wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and over 500 bird species. It’s also the best place to spot the endangered black rhino in the open grasslands. After a full afternoon exploring the Crater, you’ll drive back to Arusha.
