Day 1

Arrival and Exploration of Gessay Grassland
Begin your journey with a flight from Addis Ababa to Bale Goba Airport, where you will be picked up and transported to Dinsho, the gateway to Bale Mountains National Park. Upon arrival, we will explore Gessay Grassland, a unique ecosystem teeming with endemic and endangered mammals. During our hike, you'll have the opportunity to spot species such as the Menelik's Bushbuck, Mountain Nyala, Warthog, Reedbuck, and Gray Duiker. Bird enthusiasts will also delight in the chance to see Ethiopian endemics, including the Abyssinian Flycatcher, Wattled Ibis, and Abyssinian Catbird, all of which inhabit the grassland and nearby Bodeti Mountain. After a day of exploration, we will camp overnight at the Dinsho Campsite, situated at an elevation of 3,100 meters above sea level.

Day 2
Trekking from Dinsho to Habera
Trekking from Dinsho to Habera
After breakfast, we will embark on a trekking adventure from Dinsho into the heart of Bale Mountains National Park. This day promises breathtaking landscapes as we hike through the park, with a good chance of encountering the rare Ethiopian Wolf and various birds of prey. We will set up camp near the seasonal Fincha Habera waterfall, where you can enjoy the serene beauty of nature. Overnight accommodation will be at Habera Campsite, located at 3,500 meters above sea level, after completing an 18-kilometer hike.

Day 3
Trekking from Habera to Adeley
Trekking from Habera to Adeley
Following breakfast, we will continue our trek from Habera to Adeley. This route takes us through the picturesque Web Valley and into the woodland areas of the national park. Keep an eye out for the elusive Ethiopian Wolf, Giant Mole Rat, and a variety of endemic bird species as we traverse this diverse landscape. The day's hike will cover approximately 18 kilometers, concluding with an overnight stay at Adelay Campsite, situated at an elevation of 3,400 meters above sea level.

Day 4
Descent to Dinsho and Return to Addis Ababa
Descent to Dinsho and Return to Addis Ababa
On the final day, after breakfast, we will hike down to Dinsho, a trek lasting about two hours through the northern woodlands and grasslands. This morning's hike will take us through forests of Hygenia and Juniper trees, where we may encounter Olive Baboons, Menelik's Bushbuck, Mountain Nyala, Bohor Reedbuck, and an array of bird species. Upon reaching Dinsho, we will meet our vehicle and begin our drive back to Addis Ababa, concluding an unforgettable adventure in the Bale Mountains National Park.
