Arrival in Hoedspruit & Transfer to nThambo Tree Camp

On arrival at Hoedspruit airport, you will be met and transferred to nThambo Tree Camp in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve. This charming eco-friendly camp offers a unique treehouse-style experience, with five raised wooden chalets that provide uninterrupted views of the bush. Each chalet is open and airy, built on stilts to enhance your connection with nature. Settle in and enjoy an afternoon game drive, followed by sundowners in the wilderness and a delicious dinner under the stars.
The walls are canvas and the roof is thatched with a veranda, which overlooks the endless plains in front of the camp with views of the Drakensberg mountain range in the distance. Each chalet has the option of being made up with a double bed or as a twin share.

All chalets are ensuite with a shower and toilet. None of the chalets have baths, only showers. Lighting is provided via solar power and a plug point in each chalet is available for guests to charge their camera batteries.

Game Drives in the Klaserie Reserve

Wake up to the sounds of the bush and head out on a sunrise game drive in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve. As part of the Greater Kruger, Klaserie shares unfenced borders with Kruger National Park, allowing wildlife to roam freely. Expect excellent sightings of elephants, lions, and possibly even the elusive wild dogs. Return to camp for a relaxed breakfast and leisure time by the pool. In the afternoon, another game drive takes you deeper into this wild and less crowded reserve, ending with a night drive to spot nocturnal predators.

On the morning drive there is a stop for coffee and on afternoon drive you will stop for sundowners. Stops usually take place in scenic, open areas. Sundowners are drinks of your choice, and are usually accompanied by a few snacks.

For the more energetic, each day after breakfast there is the option of a short morning bush walk. This needs to be requested, and is weather permitting.

Transfer to Idube Game Lodge, Sabi Sand

After a final morning game drive and breakfast at nThambo, transfer to the southern sector of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, arriving at Idube Game Lodge. This well-established lodge has recently undergone a refresh, maintaining its warm and welcoming atmosphere while elevating comfort.

Your Standard Chalet features a private deck and en-suite bathroom with modern finishes. Experience comfort and relaxation in your suite, with cosy beds and cool linens, air conditioning units and mosquito nets.

All rooms have full bathrooms, that include not only bath and inside shower, but also a refreshing, private outside shower. Shower under the stars or cool off on a sunny day! Each chalet has it’s own private deck with relaxing chairs from which you can watch our resident nyala (antelope), monkeys, birds, and warthogs.

In the afternoon, head out on your first Sabi Sand game drive, where big cat sightings, especially leopards, are almost guaranteed.
