Hamedela Villages

Fly to Semera and Drive to Hamedela
Depart from Addis Ababa and fly to Semera. Upon arrival, be picked up from the airport and drive to Semera Town for breakfast. Continue your journey to the base camp of the Dallol Depression, with a picnic lunch in Afdera Town along the way.

After lunch, continue driving to Dallol. Upon arrival, stop by Lake Asale to witness the stunning sunset over the salty lake. Enjoy dinner at the camp and spend the night at the Sabba campsite, sleeping outside under the stars.

Danakil depression

Early in the morning, drive to the colorful lands of Dallol to witness the stunning sunrise. Hike to the top to see the sulfur lakes and colorful landscapes. After the visit, return to the cars and drive to the salt mountains, where you'll have a picnic breakfast and explore the salt rock formations.

Following the exploration, visit the salt workers, camel caravans (if you’re lucky), and natural potash oil springs. After the visit, start driving to Erta-Ale Volcano, with a picnic lunch on the way. Arrive at the base camp of Erta-Ale and prepare for the sunset hike to visit the volcano and the subsequent night hike back to the camp.

Afdera – Semera – Drive to Mekele visat Abune Yemta – Gerhalta church

Following your breakfast, you will drive to the base of Geraltha to explore the 6th century monastery of Debre Mariam Korkor. Following a short stroll from Mariam korkor, you can reach the petite rock church called Abba Daniel’s Prayer room. Afterwards, return to Hawzien by car. Stay the night in Hawzen.

Drive Hawizen Wukro Cherkos and Abraha Atsbelta

Early morning having a breakfast drive to Hawizen with a stop along the way to visit the partially rock-carved church of Wukro Cherkos. Next came Abraha Atsbeha, the initial church established in Ethiopia. The interior is carefully adorned. In the end,. Spend the night in Hawazen.

Visit to Debre Tsion Mariam and Yohanes Makudi During the Excursion

You will go on a day trip to Debre Tsion Abune Abreham Monastery, which is completely carved out of solid rock. Go see Yohannes Makudi, an ancient Ethiopian Coptic Christian church reached through a narrow passage between tall sandstone walls. Spending the night in Hawzen.

Drive to Hawzen -Mekele-fly Addis Ababa

Having eaten breakfast in the morning, drive back to Addis Ababa which enables us to be there at the midday. You will enjoy the rest of your time in the afternoon in the city of Addis Ababa and if necessary you can do a souvenir shopping. In the evening you will be invited a farewell dinner and the end of the trip will be transferring you to the Airport.
