Day 1

Nairobi - Sirimon Gate - Judimaier Camp

Leave Nairobi at 07.00am and drive North through the central highlands of Kenya. Upon arrival in Nanyuki you will have a stop over at the equator marker before proceeding to Sirimon Gate where you will meet the mountain crew. You will have lunch and after the check in formalities you begin the days trek up to to The first camp where you will spend the night in cabin. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 2

Judimaier Camp - Shiptons Camp

Hiking Distance: 16Kms
Duration: 6hrs
After breakfast, follow the track uphill, forking left at the junction to Shipton and Likii North. After a 30 mins walk from the junction, the track crosses Ontulili River. Go right contouring through the Moorland and crossing Likii valley and continue uphill to Mackinder’s Valley from where there are panoramic views up the valley towards the main peaks.
Dinner and overnight at the campsite 4,200m above sea level.

Day 3

Shiptons Camp - Point Lenana - Judimaier Camp - Nairobi

Shiptons Camp - Point Lenana - Judimaier Camp - Nairobi

Hiking Distance: 24Kms
Duration: 13hrs
This will be the longest day on the trip. Take an early morning tea and at around 3.00 am start the climbing along the loose scree which sometimes of the year is covered with snow to reach the summit of Lenana 4,985m. This is the third highest peak in Mt. Kenya. From the top you will catch the sunrise and get a superb view of the summit of mount Meru and Kilimanjaro to the south seen from a far.
You will then descend back to Shipton camp for breakfast. After breakfast, trek back to Old Moses with an en route lunch along the way.
Upon arrival at Old Moses, you will board a car that will transfer you to Nanyuki where you connect with your car back to Nairobi.
