3-Day Mikumi Game Drive & Maasai Camping by Train

Dar es Salaam to Mikumi Maasai Village

You'll arrive, check in, and settle into your tented accommodation. After a warm welcome, you’ll have time to relax and explore the village surroundings. In the evening, you'll be immersed in the Maasai culture and enjoy the tranquility of the area. You'll arrive in time for a short break. Afterward, you'll be given a short history of their lives and how they live differently from us. You will participate or see how they milk cows and goats, light a fire without matches, jump around, and sing traditional songs. Later, you'll have dinner and an overnight stay at Maasai Campsite, waiting for the next day for jungle exhibitions.

Full Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

The second day is dedicated to an exhilarating game-driving safari in a famous wildlife reserve. Accompanied by an expert guide, you will witness a wide range of wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes, and more. This is the perfect opportunity to get up close to nature and learn about the local flora and fauna. Early, at 6:30 am, you'll have breakfast. Then, you'll leave from Maasai village with a lunch box to Mikumi National Park (15 minutes from the point to the park) for full-day wildlife viewing until 6:00 pm. This is a good time for you to drive inside the park and look at animals like elephants, hippos, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, and, if lucky, even lions and leopards. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the Maasai camping site.

Departure and Scenic Train journey (End

Departure and scenic train journey on the final day. You'll depart early in the morning for one last chance to spot wildlife as you head towards Morogoro. The day ends with a scenic train journey to Dar es Salaam, where you’ll enjoy the picturesque landscapes and rural villages along the way.
This safari offers a perfect blend of Maasai culture, thrilling game drives, and a relaxing journey by train, making it an unforgettable adventure.
